About me:

I am an acupuncturist, herbalist, intuitive, and I work with plant medicines to create healing oils, tinctures, and herbs to burn for spiritual purposes. I graduated with my masters In Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2012. I am currently balancing raising two daughters with my healing work; I offer my services part-time as of now. I have trained in advanced shiatsu, Shonihari, a Japanese needle-less technique for children, and offer facial therapies for toning, improving circulation, relaxation and improved appearance.

As a life-long athlete, I know the importance of being pain-free, a optimally functioning body and clean diet. Chinese medicine offers a plethora of modalities to assist in athletic performance and injury recovery-from herbal plasters and ointments to electro stimulation, cupping, guasha (fascial release), needling and therapeutic stretching.

A long time student of the art of breathing, I enjoy coaching people to properly breath for well-being, optimal function of the mind and stress reduction. As a long-distance runner I learned the importance of the breath for endurance and competitive edge, then over the years developed a deeper appreciation and understanding of the magic of prana, our life-force. I practice Qigong, yoga and nature bathing to replenish myself. I enjoy river trips with my family, fly-fishing, foraging for wild herbs and the ocean. I believe in the healing power of nature, of our own minds and of plants. We are all energetic beings seeking balance; my job is simply to facilitate the movement of qi in the body and bring awareness to that which needs to shift for deep healing and vibrant energy to replace blockages, pain and habits that no longer serve.

Tools I use:

Acupuncture needles are very fine and I often tell people they are not much bigger in diameter than a hair. They are inserted int acupuncture points along energetic meridians throughout the body to assist in the body healing itself.

I use stones and guasha tools to break up adhesions, encourage muscle release and to improve circulation.

Glass cups which get heated to create a suction for use on the body and face.

Mugwort used in moxibustion for a variety of complaints, it is either burned directly on the body or on the ends of acupuncture needles.

Ailments treated with Chinese Medicine

Chinese medicine is excellent in helping anxiety and stress, chronic or acute pain from injury or overuse, dietary and digestive challenges, headaches, sleep issues, emotional struggles, reproductive issues, as well as trauma and addiction.

Auricular (ear) acupuncture is very effective in reducing stress and helping those overcome addiction. I worked in an addiction clinic and the impact the 5NP approach (a specific protocol for auricular acupuncture) had on recovering addicts was incredible. 5NP is also great for trauma, stress and shock.

I enjoy working with anyone who has an interest in bettering themselves, whether it be from an acute or chronic, spiritual in nature or physical. I enjoy helping people to be their best version of themselves, helping them to deeply relax, move out of pain and into a space for optimal healing!
