WORKING WITH THE BREATH
Breathing properly allows for us to be fully embodied and reduces stress, anxiety and a host of other ailments. During my conpetitive athletic years, I struggled to fully understand my own breathing until a couch had me lay down and placed a heavy book on my abdomen and taught to me breathe properly; it changed everything. From that moment forward I have been studying breathwork both through structured techniques and by deep experimentation with my own breath, or prana. Prana is a Sanskrit word for life-force, breath, spirit-energy. You can read more in depth about the concepts of prana here.
WHIle I have read much about prana and learned from my years practicng yoga, qigong and being an endurance runner and work with what stands out for me- to learn how to conjure the energies outside of us to meet at the nostrils and allow it to enter us, versus forced exercises.
